Employment Opportunity for the Position of Part-time Adjunct faculty for Musical Theatre Dance
ÑDz©ÌåÓýapp Department of Theatre invites applications to teach an undergraduate course in the musical theatre dance curriculum for the Fall 2025 semester (8/25/2025 - 12/19/2025). The course, Musical Theatre Dance 2, teaches intermediate skills in ballet, tap, and jazz. It is scheduled to meet on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10:20-11:35 am.

Successful candidates for this position will possess a high level of musical theatre dance expertise, initiative, self-motivation, commitment to dancer safety, and the ability to work collaboratively and professionally with other dance and musical theatre faculty, staff, and students.
*Plan, develop, teach, and assess a structured musical theatre dance curriculum for musical theatre dance students learning ballet, jazz, and tap at the intermediate level.
*Assure effective two-way communication at all levels of responsibility including timely email correspondence and use online learning platforms and assessment tools.
*Assume responsibility for the orderliness of the learning environment and the safe and secure use of instructional facilities and equipment.
- Master’s degree in applied dance or dance education preferred; or Master’s degree with substantial professional dance and/or dance education experience; or Bachelor’s degree with substantial professional dance and/or dance education experience.
- Evidence of successful teaching with collegiate undergraduate students preferred.
- Dance expertise and ability to teach ballet, jazz, and tap to intermediate dance learners.
- Ability to help students prepare for professional auditions by teaching standard dance combinations they are likely to encounter.
- An appreciation for liberal arts education.
