At Nebraska Wesleyan, we’re committed to providing academic and cocurricular experiences that transform our students’ lives. We put your student’s professional and academic development at the forefront of our work.

Student Affairs Senate (SAS)—the governing body for current NWU students—shares the same aims. SAS members represent the student body with legislation and regulation, allocate funds for student organizations, and coordinate many campus events. SAS also facilitates networking among classmates and professionals across the country to expand student learning in a practical way.

SAS allocates at least $50,000 each year to support travel expenses for students and organizations participating in major conferences. Dozens of students use this support to enhance their academics through these professional events.

Recent examples of SAS-supported travel destinations include regional and national Future Business Leaders of America conferences and competitions, Wesleyan Theatre Company trips to New York for professional workshops and masterclasses, and a trip for nine nursing students to Orlando, Fla., to attend a National Student Nurse Association convention.

Encourage your student to take advantage of these opportunities to learn and lead through meaningful experiences on and off our campus.
